Nintendo Wii vs Sony Play Station 3 -- A Comparison of Features and Benefits

In November of 2006, two very anticipated video game entertainment systems will be released. They are the Nintendo Wii and the Sony Play Station 3, and both of them are sure to be a huge hit with game enthusiasts everywhere. Not only that, but it's likely these game systems will also be grabbed up the moment they're released by not only video game lovers but gift givers as well. The Nintendo Wii features a white console that's small and can be displayed either vertically or horizontally depending on your preferences. Backwards compatibility means that you can play your old Game Cube games on the Wii in addition to the new Wii games. You can play with an amazing wireless controller, as well as play online with lots of other gamers thanks to the Wii Channel. Even when the unit is turned off, it is connected to your high speed Internet.

Then there's the Play Station 3. This incredible system can do basically everything the Wii can. It also features backwards compatibility, a sleek size, wireless capabilities and an online presence so that gamers can interact, chat and play. Not only that, but there are lots of great upcoming game titles created for use on the Play Station 3. This unit can also play audio CDs and DVD movies.

Because both the Nintendo Wii and the Sony Play Station 3 are so advanced, they are very eagerly anticipated. People are placing expensive pre-orders for these models, and it's guaranteed that there will be lines of consumers on the release dates clamoring for their chance at one of these systems. Which one you should choose will probably depend on which system you're already used to playing. If you've been playing a Nintendo for years, then you'll probably want to get the Wii so you can enjoy favorite games like Legend of Zelda and Super Mario. For Play Station gamers, the Ps3 will be well-liked and play all your old games as well as hot new ones.
